His birth was registered as Ronald only, but that does not mean that he was given an extra name on baptism

I will not post the registration as he could still be alive

I wonder if Ronald used his middle name of Philip ??
Did he have a sister Rita ?

Rita Joyce Crump of Dutton and formerly of St. Thomas in her 77th year. Mother of Michael Crump and wife Carol of St. Thomas and grandmother of Sarah and Matthew.
Brother of Philip Gosling of Guelph. [Guess this should be "sister" ! ]

Born in Bimingham England on April 27, 1931

She was a member of Grace United Church, St. Thomas and the Guardian Angel Club. Funeral arrangements have not been finalized. Donations to the MS Society would be appreciated. Condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com

Thanks everyone. I'll check out Ancestry.. I'm thinking the one who left on the Queen Elizabeth is the correct one due to the address and birthdate.

Sylvia, as an aside, I was interested to note your interest in the 2003 forest wild fire and wonder where the interest comes from.

Thanks.

Yvonne ..............

I live in the big city in BC, and we used to own a cabin that was very close to where that fire was in the interior of the province. Knew that area pretty well. Now we take the train that goes north to Jasper through the North Thompson valley which is where that photo was taken.

AND I was a botanist in my working days :-D

Thanks again everyone. Yes - the Guelph connection is correct and he is still living. What I needed to know was the UK to Canada time period and thanks to your detective skills I now have that.

Thanks all.

Sylvia … I live in the ashes of that fire in the Okanagan. In 2003 was driving through from Ontario to Vancouver and saw it burning - never thought I'd end up living here.
