Hi People, this site has been really helpfull in the past so here goes with another search. I am looking for the children of David White and Annie (someboby). I know he had two off spring James S White, born about 1874 and Agnes L White born about 1878. I have no idea about Davids wife so any help on that score would be great also. I know in the 1881 census David lived in Fern bank Crouch Hill, Islington with his two children. Also in 1901 and 1911 he was still living in Islington with his then unmarried two children, but after this date who knows.Any help would be appreciated. Roy

Hi Safc, I am a little confused by your answer, although it was great getting it. Do you mean the following. Both Agnes and James han the same second name SELBy and their mothers maiden name was BEATTIE. I am presuming they were living in Islington inthe third quarter of 1877. I also presume by your answer that David married Anna Beattie in Montrose, Scotland on 25/10/1871. Sorry about the questions but I am unfamilier about the way you presented them.

Hello Roy, Yes Safc has used the information from the GRO which now gives you mother's maiden names on the indexes for pre 1911 births.
The information Safc has shared fits with the 1891 census. I suspect 'Nicol' was later added to Agnes name:
1891 England, Wales & Scotland Census Transcription Fren Bank, Holly Park Outer Side, Islington, London & Middlesex, England

Gee thanks for all your help, I have just about got all the details of David and Annies family sorted out. Onr thing I am finding strange is that I have not been able to find where David was for the 1861 census, he would have only been 15 or so . Also do any of you know where I can find any information on Cemetaerys or gravesites in Islington so I can find out where any of this family are buried. Obviously since niether James or Agnes White got married that is the end of the line for David and Annie.
So now I go onto Davids Brother Andrew White, born 5/7/1852 in Dun, Forfarshire. Anyone keen to help a poor kiwi out???
