Thank you all for your messages. I have contacted the person I am helping & she tells me Wendy was Annabell W. It would make researching easier if we start with the correct names.

Does your friend want to know any more, and if so, what?
Or is she happy with what we've found?

Ellen

Ellen Report 30 Aug 2018 13:30

We now have Frederick George Adams born 1909 parents as William Henry Adams born abt 1871 London & Elizabeth (nee Kelly) born abt 1869 at Chatham Kent.

I am now looking for the parents of William Henry Adams, the person I am helping says they were Isaac Adams & Hannah Pollock Ruddick. I do not think they are because they are on my tree & have no William Henry born to them. They had a Henry William born 1870 St Pancras but he married a Miriam Harriet Annie Browne 30/10/1906.

Do you have William and Elizabeth's marriage cert, to be sure of his father's name?

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 30 Aug 2018 15:51

Could this be them in 1891? He's a steam engine fitter, does that tie in with other censuses? She was born Chatham, Kent.

1891, 1901, and 1911 all specify St Pancras as his place of birth.

so maybe this is him in 1881 ???

He is an engine fitter on the 1901 census posted by Erika.

ArgyllGran

He could have learned to be a ships engineer, but then not carried on in either the Royal or Merchant Navy.

EDIT:
Well, maybe not. Probably too old - unless he later claimed to be younger then he really was. Maybe he didn't know his YOB .

Connection through names??

William Adams 1836-1891 a Clerk married Thirza Elizabeth 1840-1924? Butt 1869
they had William Henry m qtr 1870 V 01b P 221 Islington this is 9 minutes drive to St Pancras so its the same area.He had brother George Frederick born 1874
William not with mum 1891.

Could he have named 1st daughter Elizabeth Thirza after his mum and son Frederick George after is brother??

Just an idea, as on 1911 census he has just written place of birth as London and in pencil someone has written Middlesex no mention of St pancreas.
