Thank you for this ArgyllGran. I thought the 1939 Register was slightly before the men signed up- what a mistake !
Luckily he came back from the war - quite scary when you see missing in action.Thanks

Of course I can't guarantee that the man missing in action is the right Herbert Adams.

You'd have to get a copy of his service record to find out one way or the other.

(Apply to MOD first, as it's free, then if they don't have the record, they'll advise you to apply to the National Archives. Be prepared for a VERY long wait - many months.)
