The only thing I have just noticed is that according to Elizabeth Ellen's marriage (my first post) certificate in 1913 her father Thomas Heap was deceased.
We have him as dying in 1931??

Glad you picked up on that…………. ;-) ;-)

He was alive and well on 1921 census, as per my post

I am guessing as her mother died in 1899 when she was ten and her father remarried in 1901 she perhaps never saw him again. She doesn't appear with him again on censuses so advised he was deceased. I guess that is what you thought also?? :-D

That's what I would assume.

A similar thing happened in my family.

My grandmother, with her mother and brother, moved from England to Scotland about 1902.
Her brother's 1926 death cert said that their father was deceased.
(His brother-in-law - my grandfather - was the informant.)
I spent a long time looking in vain for their father's death between c1902 and 1926.

It was only when the 1939 Register became available that I found him alive and well.
He didn't actually die until 1943.

He and his wife had separated when my great-uncle was about 10.
Apparently my grandfather (the informant) had never heard him mentioned, and had assumed he had died.
