Val the 1891 census is transcribed incorrectly If you look at the actual image you will see that Clara Elizabeth is actually 11 and not 4 its just a poorly written figure.. I know this because she is my grandmother and I have her birth certificate. The family are quite easy to track as Roberts Trade is Coopera as are his brothers, Father and Son. thnaks for the thought though kathy

Peter I have found a Samuel Hughes married to a Fanny but not to Catherine on 1901 census. I cannot find Robert Day married to Catherine or Fanny so you might be correct. Would still love to find the death for Ellen though. Thanks for the suggestion. Kathy

Julie I am sorry I put the wrong date of birth for Ellen I took it from 1891 census without checking my records. She was born 1855 the 1891 census gives her age as 30 but it should read 36. The correct date checks out against 1861 & 1881 cenus returns. I can't find her on 1871 census or for that matter any of her family. Kathy

Hi have you found Rosina and /or Clare on the 1901 census? Rosina may have married but Clare would only be 14. There are some marriages for Rosinas between 1891 and 1901. Val

Kathy, how do you know that Ellen had a sister Elizabeth? Julie has checked the Census back to 1851 and hasn't found a sister Elizabeth. Do you have a Birth Certificate? M. Steer

Julie I have checked and the Robert Day that is in Rosemarys Tree is my one Her line is Robert's Brother Edward who married Isablella grantham and I have already contacted her. But thanks for the tip Kathy

Correct ones Father is Edward Lee 1823 southwark mother Catherine 1828 Ireland Children Mary 1854 lambeth,ellen 1855 lambeth,john 1857 southwark, margaret 1859 southwark & Elizabeth 1861 southwark 1861 Census RG909/312/93/48 Edward died before 1877 when Ellen was married. I cannot find them in 1871 or 1881 Margaret I do not know who Elizabeth married Julie I will check the other Robert Day out if I have not already done so. Julie I suppose its possible Ellen & elizabeth are the same person but it would be strange as she was always Ellen on previous census returns and she had a sister Elizabeth born 1861 but thanks for the thought Sophie It is possible he abandoned Ellen and lived with Elizabeth since we cannot find ellens death or Elizabeths marriage but the children are living with Robert and Elizabeth so maybe she ran off. I will look for her as Ellen day & Ellen lee to see if she appears anywhere. Margaret Good thought I will check for Nell & nellie. I had fogotten that the death certificate is just on information given by next of kin so of course its quite possible. Thank you all for your thoughts. Can't wait for 1911 census to see what that throughs up Kathy

Kathy There is no Death showing for Ellen or a marriage with Elizabeth It is possable its the same woman But the only way to know for sure will be the 1911 census, to see what her name is

nudge. Any one got any Ideas. Can anyone find the death for Ellen Day please or the marriage of Robert to Elizabeth C. Both events must have take place between 1891 and 1901 in the London Area. Southwark, lambeth or that sort of area I would think. Any help appreciated as I am stuck on this one. Many thanks kathy

Louise thanks for the details of the census. They are the ones I found and the children are Roberts so I kow I have the correct Robert. The marriage you found is to either Catherine of Fanny Elizabeth. I suppose the Fanny Elizabeth might have just called herself Elizabeth but Where is Ellens Death ??? Anyone got any idea's Kathy
