Im looking for birth record of Harry Purt born about 1869 in Bury St Edmunds Suffolk.Can't seem to find anything.If anyone can help i would be most grateful. Many thanks. |

Hi Jennifer, Mutford isn't Bury St Edmunds way is it? On 1901 census it says that is where he was born |

i just googled mutford and bury st edmonds. mutford seems to be in bury st edmonds, could just be that bury was the admin district.. |

On the 1891 Census Image there are several Purt families, including one born in Wiltshire all within a few houses of each other in Bury St Edmunds. |

I just looked up to see if mayb can get a certificate for his wedding then can find parents Harry was married to Eliza Baxter, so looked on bmd, and found eliza jun 1888 4 a 929, also i looked up purt same date, and found Henry with same file number. |

In 1891 there are lots of Purts living next door. I assume they are brothers. Don't see them in 1881. Harry junior was born as Pirt. Births Dec 1889 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pirt Harry John Bury St. E. 4a 684 Rose |

On Family search some of the brothers are born to Jane Horn(e) and John Pirt. They married in 1857 in Moreton in the Marsh. This is where the elder brother was born in the 1891 census.
