Diane

Diane Report 12 Jul 2007 14:00

Family were lodging with the Pritchards lodging house keeper

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 12 Jul 2007 14:01

There are so many people because it was a Lodging house and Henry and family were lodgers. It is actually the 1851 census and not 1861 as stated by Diane. You need to buy William's birth certificate to find his mother's maiden name before you can get much further. Kath. x

Thankyou Kathleen and Diane, your help is very much appreciated. Would I benefit now from getting Henrys birth certificate or williams???

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 12 Jul 2007 14:06

There won't be a birth certificate or Henry as he would have been born before registration began in 1837. If you can find William's birth reference and buy his birth ceertificate it will give you his mother's maiden name. Kath. x
