im looking for henry east parents etc henry was born about 1850.

Have you any idea where he was born? There are a few on the 1851 census. Margaret

thanks margaret thats what i was looking for i did look on 1881 census but it didnt say anything about his parents thats why i asked for help

Sarah I asked you to look at 1881 to find his BIRTHPLACE...........it is virtually impossible to find someone if one doesn't know where they were born. Reg

From Free BMD, George East married Sarah Prior or Viner, 1855 Abingdon, Berkshire.

Sarah, I hope you understand what Rose and Reg were saying. We had to start with the 1881 census to get birth year and birthplace. If you had already looked at it you should have told us that the birthplace was Sunningwell, Berkshire and birth year was 1856 not abt. 1850, as you said. I can't find Sarah on the 1851 census, so I'm not sure which one he married. She's old enough that she could have been previously married. Margaret

i do understand what they were saying it was reg that gave me info on henry to start with.ive just looked on bmd index but how do you find out who they actually marry

That's why I was looking on the 51 census. I thought if I could find a Sarah Prior or Viner who was born in Sunningwell the same year that George's wife Sarah was, it would be her. That sounds a bit convoluted! Anyway, I didn't find one! Margaret
