Hi Steve William Hancock married Elizabeth Hodge at Stoke Damerel on 25.9.1780...says has notes therefore more information is available on the actual parish records. Baptisms only start at 1813 on this CD. Kerri

Hi Kerry, I have a lot of Hortop rellies in Devon,around East Stonehouse,Stoke Damerel,etc. I have the birth of Robert ,23rd Feb 1702,but don't have his death date.Is there any possibility you can find it as I've no idea what year he died?Also his son Robert,born c1728.In fact any info on the Hortops would be appreciated.I believe Robert senior to have married twice ,to Frances Coryton,who died1730 in Holsworthy.Either he or his son,Robert,Married Susannah Sweet,born 1723 and she died in N.Petherwin 1780. If I'm asking too much I understand,but do thank you for your offer of help. Brenda x x

Hello Kerri, Thank you for your offer to look up PR's for Plymouth. I would appreciate your help with tracking a birth and death as follows:- (a) birth of Harriet Gill - circa 1832 Plymouth (year and location as recorded in all census returns from 1851 to 1901). Her parents were Richard and Harriet Gill. (b) death of her father Richard Gill. Her mother remarried on 17 July 1835 in Ermington (to my gt gt gt grandfather). So I'm assuming Richard died from say 6 months before the birth of Harriet (circa 1832) and before July 1835 and probably Plymouth. If you do have time it would be much appreciated thank you. Hi Carl From Plymouth Charles- Harriet Gill bapt 26 July 1832,parents Richard (occ-labourer) & Harriet ,abode Cat Down Richard Gill buried 26 July 1832 aged 37 at Plymouth Charles (in notes says C) Daughter christened on same day as fathers burial. So sad! Kerri

Hi Kerri, Thank you very much for your reply re Harriet Gill and her father Richard - can't thank you enough. You've no idea how many years their birth and death respectively have been a mystery to me. Yes it's very sad both events on the same day. Just one query :- can you explain the (notes C) comment. Hi Joanna Stoke Damerel- Daniel Sleeman married Jennifer Henwood 29.10.1812 (has notes,more on actual parish records) Daniel Sleeman married Charity Symons 26.11.1832 James Sleeman bapt 10.1.1813 ,parents Daniel (occ-Labourer) & Jennifer No other baptisms found.Dont know how you will find out if 2nd marriage. Thanks Kerry - there was a 20 year age gap between Daniel and Charlotte/Charity which makes me wonder if it was a second marriage. They both came from South Hill in Cornwall so maybe I should investigate where Jennifer came from. Thanks for looking for me. regards Joanna

Hi Kerri Thank you for the info on the Hortops. There's quite a clan of them throughout Devon and Cornwall!. Wish they didn't repeat first names so much,as it does get confusing at times. Hi Kerri, Hopefully you can help me again, this time with my Stoke Damerel ancestors. I'm looking for a birth for John Tinney and Flora Beaton, both from Stoke Damerel around 1815ish. Also a marriage between Daniel Beaton and Sarah Day, it would have been prior to 1815, also Stoke Damerel. I hope I'm not asking to much of you, and if I am please tell me to stop!! Thanks Marlene.
