Find Ancestors

I am looking for Philip Domm and wife Christiana on 1861 or any census after that - I have them on the 1851 living with daughter Catherine in Whitechapel. I then have Catherine living with Aunt and Uncle in 1861 - no parents. I have the death certificate for Philip Domm he died in 1897. But between those to dates I have nothing. Please can anyone point me in the right direction. Should mention on 1851 it states Pru British Subjects from Prussia. Philip Domm born abt1818 Christiana abt 1822. Catherine 1841.( in Whitechapel) Thanks Clare

I can't see him before that. It's possible they travelled a lot, given that he's a musician.

That's possible I suppose. Just wondered why daughter was living with aunt and uncle. I've tried to find a death for Christiana but come up with nothing. Clare

Just had a quick look Marie - don't think it's right occupation on my Philip was musician - Phillipe Doerr was a baker.

Thanks Tracy and Marie looks very likely for 1871 - occupation and area seem to tie in. I live only 25 Miles from Southampton.

I cannot find any reference to any brothers or sisters of Catherine - should maybe mention that she is also known as Kate. Her mothers name is sometimes Christiana or Christian and I think her maiden name was Schmidt although on their marriage certificate she is Christiana Smith - she signed it Schmidt. Confused!!! Not to sure on this Philip Doerr!! I am wondering if Christiana maybe died soon after 1851 census. Clutching at straws now!!

Just had another look of image 1861 Philip Doerr - could look very like Domm - only snag baker not musician - they could have had more children - then what happened to Christiana after 1861???? Don't know what to think now. If Christiana died in 1859 this family can't be right.

That has got to be a good possiblity hasn't it? I'll send for the certificate.
