trying to find out bout my dads dad!

Hi, I am now trying to find out about my Grandad, His name is Frederick William Coulstock born 1918 in oct/dec in croydon, i dont know his parents names or anything which i no dont help but if any1 can help in anyway as always id appreciate it alot. Thankyou Joanne

you will need to get his birth cert which will have his parents names on it you will then hopefully find them on the 1901 census Jeanette

just looked at index very bad image can't make out Mothers maiden name Croyden 2a? 496 1918 4th 1/4 not sure what the volume letter is for Croyden Jeanette

Joanne, You can look for his birth on Ancestry for free. His mother's maiden name will be next to it. You can then search for a marriage. Coulstock isn't that common so it should be easy. Rose

Mother's maiden name = Smith. Vol 3a? Pg 496 Coulstock not a common name, but Smith is! LOL. However, not many Coulstock's married Smith I'm sure. Good luck

There is a birth for a Leonard I Coulstock in september quarter 1921 in Lambeth MMN Smith ref no: 1d-435. Possible brother? Georgina.

Hi everyone, Thanx to all of you that have replied back to me. I dont know if my grandad had brothers and sisters, all i know about him is that he is my dads dad, nothing else im afraid so im not much help really but thanx to all that have found the maidan name of Smith, great just my luck lol but shouldnt be to hard really as Coulstock not common name. Portland rose, You found this There's a Fred Coulstock marrying a Smith in Jan qtr 1916 in Rochford. but not my grandad as he wasnt born till 1918 but i wonder if maybe that is his dad anothr frederick lol, so my dad is frederick his dad is frederick and your find might be the gt grandad as i think they carried names down. Joanne, That's what I meant - this could be his parent's marriage. I was looking for a Coulstock/Smith marriage. I found a birth for a Fred Coulstock in Reigate and his father was William which is your grandfather's middle name. Rose

The Smith party to the marriage found in Rochford 1916 was Maude E Smith.

Yes Joanne thats right. The marriage that has been found in 1916 was between Fred Coulstock & Maude E Smith. Nikki
