Joanne, i think the info in 1891 strongly suggest this is your family, Head is a Gardener (as stated on marriage cert) and they are living in Wimbledon/Surrey near Merton... i will have a look for them in 1901...

Devon Dweller Report 7 Oct 2006 23:33

I do because Poplar was right over the other side in East London Merton/Wimbledon is the boarders of South London and Surrey (even now) Jane is from Essex and that is closer to Poplar so maybe the children were all born there because her family are in that area...just thinking aloud now but Im pretty sure Lady has the right one Sheila

Joanne, The census says it's a girl but the only birth record for a Chris* Askew is for a Christian Askew in Wandsworth district 1899. There are no Christine Askews listed at all on FreeBMD. Similarly, Flora is actually Florrie. Rose

Joanne, image states Christine/Christian is female, however it could have been marked in the wrong column by enumerator. If you do manage to find the birth ref and get the cert, it should state his father was a gardener as he is in 1891/1901 census, it seems it was his regular occupation as it is stated on the marriage cert you have for 1914 too.

Portland Rose, Do you think maybe it might be Christopher then? Funny how you can pick and choose your name back then isnt it. Joanne
