If you are linked to a tree that has the names THEXTON, YEATS, CARTMEL, NICKEL, FRANCIS, WHITTLE and HUDSON in Cumbria I may be able to fill in some gaps. By chance a piece of paper has come into my possession written by an Isabella THEXTON nee Hudson born c1810 where she has tried to compile her own tree. It was put together probably around the late 19th century and links her family to the Rev J Francis who was chaplin to the Duke of Wellington. Isabella married into the THEXTON family who were land owners in and around Beetham in Cumbria and had links to Ashton House. I am not connected to this tree but I believe the contents of this document will be invaluable as some information certainly pre dates 1837. I have had one G.R. member with a connection contact me alreadyand Isent on the info but he never acknowledged, sadly. Are there any more genuine people out there I can help? Regards Brian in Lancashire. PLEASE NUDGE NOW AND THEN. Tks

Might be worth contacting the Cumbrian Family History Society. http://cumbriafhs(.)com as they may well have members subscribing who have these families in their tree. I wish I could find something like this for mine too! Mags.x
