Your only chance of finding the marriage (presuming of course they did get married) is to trawl through the complete images on Ancestry - http://www.ancestry(.)co(.)uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx you will need to search quarter by quarter, year by year- make a note of any that are missing and then subscribe to 1837 or Family Relatives to view the missing pages. Its very time consuming but the Ancestry lookups are free. All I can say is don´t give up. I have recently found a marriage for my 2x ggfathers - 36 years after the birth of their first child!!

Elaine

Elaine Report 23 Aug 2006 10:24

The only realistic marriage i can see for a James Pickett in 1864 is this one - and none of the brides match Jeoo Guallerto Barrose Cunha 1864 Oct-Nov-Dec St James Westminster London, Middlesex Ellen Carmody 1864 Oct-Nov-Dec St James Westminster London, Middlesex Joan Gualberto De Ba*s Cunha 1864 Oct-Nov-Dec St James Westminster London, Middlesex Joas Gualberto De Banose Cunha 1864 Oct-Nov-Dec St James Westminster London, Middlesex Frances Anne Latham 1864 Oct-Nov-Dec St James Westminster London, Middlesex >James Pickett 1864 Oct-Nov-Dec St James Westminster London, Middlesex

Elaine Report 23 Aug 2006 10:15

IF the 1871 census is the right one then James´s birth year could have been 1855/6 (he was aged 5 in the census)

Elaine

Elaine Report 23 Aug 2006 10:13

ditto Janice !!!

Janice

Janice Report 23 Aug 2006 10:12

i'm getting confused now, you say that your James was b 1864 to James Pickett & Ann Taylor then you say that James married in 1864 to Annie Banks help

Elaine

Elaine Report 23 Aug 2006 10:11

You say you have the marriage of James to Annie Banks in 1864 If the James we are looking for was born in 1864 then isn´t Annie Banks the mother ?? Are you sure that the birth certificate you have for James is the right one ?

G83

G83 Report 23 Aug 2006 10:09

i see ok i still cannot find a marriage for james pickett and ann taylor at all?

Janice

Janice Report 23 Aug 2006 10:08

If the family in 1891 are your James parents then the James & Sarah in the 1861 census would be your James (born 1864) grandparents
