1837online is a payperview site. If you don't want to pay to check, I can't see that anyone else would want to. You can check that the details you have are right as the same indexes are free on www.ancestry*co.uk BUT you won't be able to see the other partners for each marrriage unless its transcribed on Freebmd or details are on www.familysearch.org If they aren't you will only get further info by ordering the certs. Wallasey is in Lancs or Cheshire I think, but you can check this on www.streetmap*co.uk Once you know which county, you can check which areas are covered by each reg district here: www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/reg/ You may want to bookmark the webaddresses I've put here. I use them constantly in my research. Remember to replace * with . nell |

You can check the names on the complete marriage indexes on Ancestry http://www.ancestry(.)co(.)uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx for example - you have James A Browning married ? Francis Q1 1945 in Wallasey 8A 1313 select the year 1945 and enter the surname Francis. Scroll through Francis names until you find one that has the same reference as the one you have found (and of course with the spouses name as Browning) |

Alexandra - you wont find anything on freeBMD. For anything after 1910 you need to check the complete images. Sorry to say - only way to find ages is to buy the certificates. |

Alexandra You can't find something if its not indexed. Ages at time of marriage aren't indexed and middle names sometimes aren't either. You can look for likely births in the births index (assuming most folk married between ages of 21-35). Some entries on www.familysearch.org give ages at time of marriage but most don't. nell |

Alexandra What do you know about James A Browning? Put the info here and we may be able to help. Have you got a rough idea of when he was born - you seem to feel he would have married in the 1940s, so I would guess he would have been born around 1910s-20s. nell |
