Checked the 1881 census Maude M born in Aldgate Middlesex in 1879 on that and the 1891 census but not on 1901 census. So made the assumption was right marriage in 1897. Have save census image if you would like them Diane |

Don't know if these will help: Spinks Annie B Gerhold Poplar 1c 956 Birth Q3 1914 Spinks Dorothy Gerhold Poplar 1c 977 Birth Q1 1912 Spinks Ivy F Gerhold Poplar 1c 759 Birth Q1 1917 Spinks Winifred M Gerhold Poplar 1c 883 Birth Q4 1919 These go with the marriage I found. Suzy OOPS really slow there. LOL |

maybe its best i find william spinks (sons) birth index can anyone help with this 1906-1908 hackney no middle name as far as known. Then i can order and get mmn from that. although that cenus info seems right for info ! |

Could this be William and Maud's son you are talking about: Spinks William Hackney 1b 444 Birth Q2 1906 His birth certificate would give his Mother's maiden name. Suzy |

yes that would appear to be the right birth thanks il order that but i have a feeling all the cenus info is right and that he married maude clark. Is there anything else i can do to find out without the birth cert? |

Alexandra - a comment you made a couple of replies ago my grandad said his nan was called maude although he didnt like her much is that Grandad still alive? can you ask him what his brothers and sisters were called, or your father, the names of his aunts & Uncles? |
