hi all, I need to find the marriage for my husbands late grandparents. I''m guessing about 1929-30 as his father was born in 1935 and was the second child. I've been told their names were ron sayer & liz morrell, in yorkshire probably. I don't know of any resources that might conatin these records, could anyone help me??? thanks, joanne

You can search the marriage index for free on Ancestry at this address:- http://www.ancestry(.)co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx remove brackets. I'll have a bit of a look for you, see if I can find anything. Kath. x

I've looked from 1927 to 1937 and can't find a Morrell/Sayer marriage. Could it have been earlier/later? Are you sure they married? A lot of marriages broke up during the period between the wars and quite a lot of people just lived with other partners, as divorce was very expensive. (no offence intended if they did indeed marry). hi again, i'm told they were married, can't be positive of course, and no offense taken. (it's my husbands family, not mine. lol) my father in law was Bertram Thackray Sayer born january 2nd 1935, not positive where but should be in yorkshire, (could possibley be liverpool, lancashire) he has an older sister helen and a younger brother Robin. i got his mothers surname 'morrell' from 1837 online, thats what it had for mothers maiden name. thanks guys, reallt appreciate it, regards joanne
