i am looking for a william evans born abt 1856 in glamorgan wales, could someone see if he was in the county of gloucestershire please i would appreciate it jamie

There are 259 born in Glamorgan in 1856 +/- 1. Unless you know exactly where he was born, and the names of at least one of his parents...........no chance. As he only gives the county of birth on various censuses, it's likely to be impossible. If you bought his marriage cert, at least you'd have father's details Reg

i have the marriage certificate you mentioned his father was called william Evans and fathers occupation was labourer, was the search you did for william evans in gloucestershire that were born inglamorgan, i was trying to find out if he had moved to glos by 1871 jamie

To be honest i have no idea, census's for 1881 and 1901 just say glamorgan wales, havent been able to trace him on the 1891 census, he may have been working away from his family and returned after the census was taken, i just wanted to see if he had moved to gloucestershire by 1871, he was marrie d in 1877 in charlton abbots gloucestershire, just wish i could find him also on the 1891 census, he couldnt have been that far away as he was only an agricultural labourer. any help you can give would be much appreciated jamie

i cant seem to find the 1901 census on this computer, it maybe on my other one which my wife has taken with her but from memory there daughter mabel is still living with them, just william, ann and mabel, i think in winchcombe, william wasnt with his family in 1891, but the family were in winchcombe gloucestershire

Difficult, Jamie - without knowing where he was born I can't find him in the earlier census.

In 1871 he was very possibly still at home somewhere in Glamorgan.....have you no clue as to where?
