Find Ancestors

My counsin has asked me if I could find anything on his grandparents that died before he was born and when he was young. I have found the following: GRANDFATHER: Wilfred William Wardall B. 17 July 1915 (registered in Nuneaton, born in Polesworth - mothers maiden name Wright) D. Jan, Feb, March 1980 (registered in Atherstone, died in Polesworth). GRANDMOTHER: Maud Folwell (possible middle name of Florence). We believe that the Wardalls lived in Polesworth for some generations we hope, but there name a few generation before could have been spelt differently because some other people lived in the street with the same name. I was hoping to find Wilfred's parents on the census's. There is one Wardall family on the 1901, but i cant connect them. Can anyone find Wilfreds parents or his marriage to Maud? Or check the 1891 and 1881 for Wardall's / Wardel's / Wardle's living in or born in Polesworth (there shouldnt be many), so i have something to work with? Thanks, Deborah

He hasnt got his cert. Thats the problem with family asking you to look for things. They usually dont want to pay; they think its soooo easy. I said i could do alot of his tree is he stumped up the money to go back past the 1900's in cert's. But his not THAT interested apparently. More interested in whether they had lived in Polesworth for a long while. He writes books on the area, so hes interested in the place and which houses they lived at in the census's rather than the people i think. Sorry...... just thought id check if anything was lurking free on ancestry or anything that could help get to the first census connection. Because i'd also be quite interested to see what houses they lived in, i still live very near the village itself. x Deb

The two Wardall families I added are the only ones of that spelling in Polesworth in 1891. Both living at Little Warton, Polesworth. Some of the places of birth are also recorded as Warton, rather than Polesworth. Linda

I suppose the thing we really needs is the marriage of a Wardall and a Wright (Wilfreds parents) prior to 1915. Trouble is, we dont know if he was the youngest or oldest, so the time frame is vast. Just that it is likely to be in the Warwickshire district. x

Thanks, its a question of matching Wilfred to whatever his fathers name was then. Which the only way to do that is to find the Wardall - Wright marriage or order the birth cert. Which i doubt he'll do. :( doesnt it frustrate you at times. You end up wanting to order it yourself just to find the answer. But then when its not in my tree, whats the point. He does do favours for me, so i suppose i shouldnt moan. Thanks,

Hummmm so i wonder where that William is on the 1901. With his family, on his own or with his new wife by that point. Theres only one William found on the 1901 so far and he was too young to marry in 1901. ? Thanks,

So if thats him on the 1891 then he should be living in Polesworth in 1881 because his siblings we born there around that time.

Hes there living in Amington and Stonydelph in the 1881. Thats not too far though. Its the nearest bigish town (Tamworth area). x
