oooh me Jess please. THis ones doing my head in George Alfred Hodson born c1822 in Dublin an actor/composer/comedian I can't find him at all in 1851 or 1861 census (he was definitely in UK by then as he married and had children here) Facts I know............. Married Henrietta Elizabeth Noel in 1840 in Bath (they were touring there as I have playbills to show this. She was born c1810 in Highgate London. Children: Henrietta Hodson 1841 London Kate Hodson 1842, London (baptised in Marylebone) Sylvia Hodson 1846 London He died in 1869 in Bath (age on certificate is 47) and at teh time called himself Professor of Music My main problem is that as a theatrical family they tended to lie all the time about their ages - although their birthplaces appear to stay the same. There is a George Hodson , Professor of Music in Southwark in 1861 with a wife called Jane - I don't think this is him. Wife Henrietta and daughter Silvia (sic) also appear on 1861 but he's not there. Anything you can find or vague possibilities would be great You're a DOLL. Cheers, Zoe

Sorry Jess should have said he wasn't on the 1841 census. His wife was though - so I presume that John was dead as he wasn't on the 1851 either.

Hi Jess, If you really insist on staying sane, please could you do an 1851 SUFFOLK look up. Need OCCUPATION of Edward BUNN, born 1798 at Ipswich, living at Hadleigh..... In 1881 he says he is a solicitor. Would love to check with another census to verify this. Many thanks, Jay
