Hi Jacquline Ask for a lookup of any census on the records office board. Having said that you do realise if this rellie was born 1911 they wont be on the 1901 census? Suzanne

Zoe

Zoe Report 16 Mar 2006 20:21

You will have to find his birth cert then this will give you his parents names and fathers occupation Zoe

Jeanette

Jeanette Report 16 Mar 2006 20:23

the census only goes up to 1901 you can search 1901 site but have to pay to see details you can see 1881 for free on familysearch.org and Ancestry . you can ask for look ups on record office board giving as much detail as poss. you can look at ancestry freebmd site find your grandfathers birth and send for cert which costs £7 from gRO site http://www.ancestry(.)co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp remove brackets jeanette to reply to thread just click on add reply

When did he marry? As that marriage cert would give the couples name's ages & fathers names and occupations and address at time of marriage! Zoe

Get as much info as you can from relatives, write it all down, all the vague memories of Uncle Jack who had a grocers shop with a parrot on a stand. One day it will all be useful. Nite nite.
