HI To add to the confusion It must be a different family as I have just found Francis Brown born * 1841 Lester, Leicestershire shoemaker with a wife Eliza at the same address as he was in in the 1891 census. Agnes Brown abt 1871 Cropston, Leicestershire, England Daughter Wigston St Golden Ball, Blaby, Leicestershire, England Alfred Brown abt 1880 Blaby, Leicestershire, England Son Wigston St Golden Ball, Blaby, Leicestershire, England Eliza Brown abt 1850 Husbands Bosworth, Leicestershire, England Wife Wigston St Golden Ball, Blaby, Leicestershire, England Elizabeth Brown abt 1875 Kilby Bridge, Leicestershire, England Daughter Wigston St Golden Ball, Blaby, Leicestershire, England Francis Brown abt 1841 Lester, Leicestershire, England Head Wigston St Golden Ball, Blaby, Leicestershire, England Frank Brown abt 1877 Glen Parva, Leicestershire, England Son Wigston St Golden Ball, Blaby, Leicestershire, England Rose Brown abt 1873 Cropston, Leicestershire, England Daughter Wigston St Golden Ball, Blaby, Leicestershire, England But note no Valentine living with him! Tracy, If you look at the 7th reply on this page 2 of the thread - Lynn has answered your question. Only thing is, the reply doesn't read as it did when I first asked her!!! Originally it said Upper Charles Street, so I had assumed George T Brown b 1860 was born in the home of his Brown Grandfather, but now I see the reply is amended!! Merry

What is the address on George's birth cert? Was it Coventry Street? If so, what number?

Merry

Merry Report 31 Aug 2005 15:44

Still can't find him!! Lynn, have you seen Abraham on the 1861 census, or is it that you just know his marital status and occupation and where he was living at that time?? It's just that Sarah and baby George might be with him and if part of the census is missing, that might explain why we cannot find Sarah and George anywhere in 1861. Do you know which parish in Leicester includes the street name you mentioned for Abraham?? Merry

Merry Report 31 Aug 2005 15:36

Looked on 1837 index for 1861 census too??? Think he died in 1865, so he should be there....Ggggggrrrrr!! Merry

Lynn Report 31 Aug 2005 15:31

Merry

Merry Report 31 Aug 2005 15:27

Tracy, I can't find Abraham Lord either???? Merry

Merry

Merry Report 31 Aug 2005 15:07

I suppose it's possible that the enumerator had a funny five minutes in the home of George T Brown in 1861 - so MANY people and so MANY George T Brown's! Maybe Sarah and the baby just got missed off??? Merry
