Thank you for your offer - having both g.fathers who were master mariners and going back generations I have quite a few. But if you can find the surnames of KINLEY and CLAGUE - not very common (Manx names) and birthplaces would be Isle of Man I would be very grateful. Thank you Ann

Hello Sheila, Would you be able to look up three possibilities for me please? Firstly, Henry Martin, master mariner in Fleetwood, died 1938/1939. Secondly, James McLean, born Brixham 1859, master mariner out of Brixham, I think there may be a connection with the ketch Ellen Eales. and Finally, William John McLean, born Brixham 1886, master mariner, sailed out of Brixham and Milford Haven. Master of the St John Baptish, lost at sea 7th September, 1940. Any crumbs of information that you might be able to give me would be ecstatically received as this lot don't seem to want me to know more than I do at the moment! Many thanks for your offer to help. Abigail

Hi Sheila. Would you check for James Lawrey born 1841 and Joseph William Lawrey born 1854 both Cornwall and both lost at sea Nov 1871. Joseph seems to go under the name of William. William James Lawrey born 1881 Plymouth Charles Ogilvie born 1843 Scotland but a Mariner on the 1901 Census. Thanks
