Hi Maureen I had a look on the 1841 in Egton for you but your Robert wasn't there. There was a Hill family with a son called Robert though so perhaps his father was a brother of your Robert. Jeanette x

I have found this on the IGI IGI Individual Record FamilySearch™ International Genealogical Index v5.0 British Isles Search Results | Download | Pedigree -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JOHN HILL Male -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: Christening: 25 AUG 1848 North Grimston, Yorkshire, England Death: Burial: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parents: Father: ROBERT HILL Family Mother: MARY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tried to look for Robert but there is no record of him at all. I think that the family may have moved on and just put both children as born Grimston. Best thing i can think to do is look for Robert's birth and get the certificate and see where he is actually born. it could just be that they were somewhere else census night and then went back there. I will have a look at Richmond for you now. Regards, Claire

Thanks Jeanette These two families are my headache lol. As I cannot find a birth record for Hannah to get her birth cert. I do think her baptism is on the Igi with a mother of Mary Hence the ?? is her though. I have applied for 1 cert and had my cheque sent back. Family History, Eh Maureen

Hi Maureen Not in Scarborough in 1841 I'm afraid. Had a look at Scalby also as I thouht this might have been misheard as Scorby. Unfortunately some of the images on my discs aren't very good and Scalby just happens to be one of them! So perhaps you could ask if someone else has the 1841 and can look at Scalby for you.
