Could somebody look up a Thomas McDougal in Bell Street Toxteth Park (occupation tailor). Any details of any other family members would be gratefully received. Also William Walker of Bedford Street Toxteth Park - again any other family members. I imagine that they are middle aged. Thanks

William Walker's wife was Margaret and it may be worth a look at the 1851 census if anyone could oblige. Thanks

I'll check the William Walker on the 1851 census for you, as streets are more often than not named. Have you had this info off the 1861 census ? Elaine :-)

I got the info from the marriage cert of William's son and Thomas's daughter - they were the given addresses and they married in November 1841.

Hiya, I've checked on the Street Index for the 1841 Liverpool .. Toxteth and have found the pages which these two address are on .... Unfortunately the pages are all mostly unreadable ... which is why I rarely offer to do lookups on 1841 ! Sorry. Hopefully Paul will do better for you ! I'll see what I can find on the 1851 for you Elaine :-)

Paul from the WORRALL Isobel lol Have checked 1841 Bell/Belle Street Toxteth. The 'north side' is legible and he's not there. The other side is very very poor and can't read most of it. If you get a chance to view the original, it is Reference HO107 567 pages 38-48 and 55 - 58. Paul

Hi Ginny, Where do you have them for certain? Why go straight to 1841 before tracking them back through '71, '61', and '51? Paul

Unknown Report 6 Apr 2005 23:32

both myself and Elaine have it.

Ginny Report 6 Apr 2005 23:37

Paul the reason that I am looking at 1841 is because I have the marriage cert of William Walker and Margaret McDougal my GGGrandparents but do not know of any siblings and only have thair fathers names. As they married in November 1841 I thought that the census of that year might give me some info.

Sorry Ginny, I've checked all of Bedford St ... and boy is it a long road ! No sign of any Walkers. Trillions of Williams, Smiths, Jones ... in fact I have never come across so many of the same name in any one district before now ! (Williams) Why couldn't his name have been Walker Williams ! Sorry Ginny. Elaine ;-)
