Find Ancestors

Hello, i have found a record of mt GG granddad getting married in 1906 i have the number as 3a 1231 how can i find out who he married using this info. Also he married twice in the same year later in 1910 but both in the 2/4. One to adelaide collins 14.05.1910 and also married kate hawkings but cant find a date. Do you think its a bit strange. What was gt.gt.g.fathers name? And what was his first wifes name? Anne

What was g.g.granddads name? Was it a common name, so that the second marriage in 1910 might actually be another person with the same name, or are you certain he married twice in that quarter, which does seem strange to me. Kath. x

Ancestry civil reg only has this marriage: Name: COBBIN, Richard William Record Type: Marriages Quarter: June Year: 1910 District: Edmonton County: Essex Hertfordshire Middlesex Volume: 3a Page: 952 and has only the grooms' names. nell

1837online only has one marriage in 1910 for Richard William Cobbin. It is the same reference that is on Ancestry, except that the page number is very difficult to read and looks more like 962 or 969 rather than 952 as Ancestry states. What makes you think he got married twice that quarter? Kath. x

I think i may have found out the first wife in 1906 was called helena dont know maiden name though. But she died in 1907 giving birth as there is a birth record for the same quater for a girl called helena. Still do not know her maiden name yet. As for the two marriages in 1910 it is making me go mad. It started off as i requested the certificate for what i thought was a plain marriage. I gave the gro index but what i thought was a 3 turns out to be a 8. So i have a richard william cobbin marrying adelaide maude collins with ref 3a 962 and also a richard william cobbin marrying a kate hawkings with ref 8a 952. Any help please!!!! Kath, the one you have mentioned off 1837 is for adelaide. Nell the one you have mentioned is for Kate hawkings. Anne you mentioned one for 1870 - Jane warby is richard cobbin Mother. Are you as confused as i am!!!

The Richard Cobbin in Edmonton in 1901, is he yours? He's 52 & married to Jane? Re: your message above... So these were his parents in 1901 then...where was he?

I have checked both Kate and Adelaide on 1837online for marriages. Both in Edmonton, 2nd qtr of 1910, but Kate is on page 952 and Adelaide on page 962. However Richard Wm, Cobbin is only on the index once. Kath. x

Smiley - Yes they are his parents but do not know where he was at the time of that census. Kath - that is why i am so confused a si have been checking on lots of different sites but can only find him once too.
