Helen, I don't have enough credits to search all the quarters of those years. You will need to be precise, if you want a look up between 1920 and 1983.

Mandy, You will need to order the certificate from the gro office to get that information as you don't get that on the site, it is just an index. birth 3 means the third quarter of that year, so in other words the september quarter. regards, Siobhan

hi trying to find birth or marriage of harold william knight born 15/01/1901 he married ivy violet elizabeth pettitt (don't know the year) ivy was born 1905 marriage and birth of harold was probably maldon in essex or there abouts desperate for any help in my search of harold as he left the family in about 1957 and we only discovered his whereabouts in 1992 when solicitors contacted my mother on his death and my mum wants to find more about him hope you can help

Hi Siobhan. Thanks for your kind offer. Could you look for a marriage of John Jackson to Sarah Ellen?? between 1830 - 1840 Collingham, Yorkshire or anywhere in the Yorkshire area. Collingham was his birth place so thought that might be a start, however between them they had a daughter born 1842 in Halifax, Yorkshire. If you come across John sheard Jackson - he won't be the one as he died 1882, but my John was still alive and kicking on 1891 Census aged 76. Here's hoping.
