I have now read all the messages from everyone and would like to say how grateful I am that you have all given me your time to help with my family tree.It is piecing together abit now,any info on the brother that died?????? maybe it was the step brother????? mum remembers her mum telling her about it. Make sure you copy down all this information because as each new request is added to board your thread drops down and eventually disappears.

on the 1901, Joseph gives his place of birth as "Rhas Robin wales", could be a mistranscription but thought I'd show it anyway! Robert married Margaret Brindle. They have one daughter on the 1901, name of Sarah Phoenix. Have brother Joseph Phoenix with them, aged 19, born in Wrexham.

If you send for Joseph's first marriage cert you will get both father'snames and they can be checked against 1871 census. At moment I can only find one Joseph Phoenix of correct age and he is a boarder but birthplace is given as Poolmouth so can't be sure it is him. Can't find death of first Matilda Phoenix - needs to be checked against 1837 online Tricia

Have found what could be first marriage of Joseph Phoenix Qrt ending Dec 1872 Wrexham 11b 677 No female on page but cross referenced with all Matilda's married same time and with same ref and found this: Qrt ending Dec1872 Wrexham 11b 677 Matilda Roberts This should be your Matilda'smother.
