Making the grocer bit unlikely is that Albert became a policeman in Gypsy Hill south London, what age did they enter back then.

Zoe I'm not sure thats my Alby. I know there was some McP's in the Holborn area but he was definitely younger than Annie who we've found at age 18 in Woolwich.

Roy I have access to 1901 on ancestry (which I think is a different transcription the the PRO one) but you can be far more flexible with your search options e.g. if you don't put a surname you don't HAVE to then know a place of birth AND age etc etc

Miss Zoe Thank you and where did you find them, I've tried the 1901 and frbd to no avail. Strange that Albert is missing, perhaps he followed big sister. Roy

6 lambs conduit Street, London Albert Mc Pherson 18 London, England Servant St Andrew Holborn and St George the Martyr London - grocers assistant I'm intrigued by the fact that both the page for Ellen and this Albert use the spelling Mc Pherson as opposed to McPherson!!

How can a whole family not be shown? I've looked on all the normal sites and I cannot find a list of McPhersons for the census. The family consisting of Ellen McP. widower, Albert 16 years old, Charles 6, Annie 17, Walter 10. At the birth of the youngest child they were in Walpole Palce Woolwich. How did people disappear?
