Alfred is correct. For Ellen, your earlier reply was the first i knew she came from Greenwich, I'd thought she was from Kent. They were married in May 1882.

I can't see any sign of Annie anywhere on 1891 I have my suspicions that your Uncle Albert or Alfred had himself a little pseudonym!!! Only jesting. My boss is now insisting I do work so I'll leave you with that little lot to get on with Zoe

Hi Roy, I have been trying to find a connection between Foster's and McPhersons for you but no luck. Found this birth: Annie McPherson born Dec Quart 1883 Woolwich Greater London Kent London volume 1d page 1151 Laurie

Roy

Roy Report 9 Jul 2004 12:40

Laurie Your correct, Annie was born 1/11/1883 in Short Street Woolwich. The record you showed said she was a niece of the Foster's so I need to look at the aunts and uncles. My this is fun. Once more, thanks for your help Laurie.

in theory Harriett Foster would be Ellen McPherson's sister THats not taking into account stepfamilies etc

Roy

Roy Report 9 Jul 2004 12:50

I'm not sure if I'm straw clutching here. I need to research Ellen Mcp. nee Baldwin, to see if she had a sister Harriett

Laurie

Laurie Report 9 Jul 2004 12:54

Hi Roy, I do know that Harriett and Edward were not married on the 1881 census as he is at home with his mother and brothers & sister. I couldn't find their marriage on Ancestry. Laurie

Nicotine inspiration Just outside having a ciggie and it occurred to me that Harriett could of course be Harriett McPherson sorry for the confusion Zoe

Roy

Roy Report 9 Jul 2004 13:24

Thats entirely feasible but she'd be the first harriett I've found. Seems more likely that she's a Baldwin. By the way, what was in that cigarette?
