Hi Lisa Could you please look up in the 1871 census an entry for Cornelius Crawley age 13 with mother Mary Ann Crawley age 50 both born Vauxhall, Lambeth, Surrey. Father is John Crawley but I'm not sure if he is alive then as he is deceased in the 1881. I am interested in siblings. The name has been mistranscribed in 1881 as Cranley and as Shawley. The address in 1881 was Cardigan St, Lambeth. If possible if you find them could you email me an image please. Many thanks Regards Christina

Hi Lisa, I am from New Zealand. I am trying to work out my family tree/ ancestry. I was adopted out but have since found my birthmother and of course I want to know all about everything! So here goes - don't have birthdates as yet, thats the only problem. My birthmother is Moira Nixon born 1933 in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, and has two sister, Dorothy and Elizabeth (Betty). Her father was George Nixon from Warwickshire and her mother was Annie Elizabeth Brown from Leicestershire. George's father was William Nixon and Annie's father was Walter Brown. Somewhere in there is a Charlotte McCoy, and I think she was Annie's mother. Aparantly Charlotte's mother was a maid at Windsor Castle. Charlotte was born in Dublin (maybe) but definately was from Ireland. As was Walter I think. Now I don't have birthdates but I'm figuring my greatgrandparents must have been around in about the 1870's to the 1890's? Can you help me? My adoptive family are all deceased, I am 42 years old and seeking to discover my true ancestors, relation and any history I may have and not know about, know what I mean? Cheers Elizabeth Nixon (my known name since adoption is Kris.

Hi Lisa Thank you very much for the kind offer. Please could you look on the 1871 for a John Robins, aged 41 in 1871, living with Ann, Frederick, George, Sarah and William, who were aged 53, 19, 67, 17 and 15 respectively in 1871. I would be very grateful if you could also see if you can find him in 1891, please; I think I have found him in 1881 aged 52, married to Clara, 30, born in Great Tew, Oxon, with a daughter called Elsie, 1, born in Swerford; if he is the right one in 1881, he was born in Swerford, and is a blacksmith; he was dead by 1901. Incidentally, you wouldn't by any chance be related to the Pickerings who were Tyne Pilots in South Shields, would you? My husband is, and has loads of info on them, just in case you or anyone else would be interested... Best wishes, and many thanks in advance for your help Lysianne
