ann do u have any connection with the townsleys from scotland as i am also a townsley my mother was margaret ?? im just curious as im trying to do that side of the family tree ?

Roberta, Not as far as I know. I'm a Townsley by marriage. I've only just started tracing my husband's family. As far as I know they are from Yorkshire. Although there is some debate about whether he should be a Townsley at all - but that's another story. I now live in Aberdeen, hence my recent change in name on here. I've certainly noticed a lot more Townsley's up here than there were in England. My neighbour is a Townsley, with my initial - I occasionally get her post ! When I mention the name hereabouts it appears to have been linked to travellers. Ann
