Thanks. Am looking for the deaths of either John Bessant or Elizabeth Bessant. They had a son, Benjamin in Hampshire in 1776, so they probably didn't last more than 50 years after that. Any thing will be greatly appreciated. Chloe

Thank you for your kind offer. I have hit a tremendously tall brick wall in the search for John Alfred Slater, born in Colby in Norfolk around 1855. It is a remote possibility that his parents are Samuel Slater and Margaret (?), if you could find any information out about these two people it might lead me in a new direction. I'm hoping they were already married in 1851 (fingers crossed) and maybe I can find a sibling of John Alfred. Thank you! Jane

Hello, could you look on the Norfolk census discs plse for Stanhoe/Docking area. I'm looking for Rebecca Colman (or Coleman) It's a guess as I don't have her year of birth but she marries Jacob Newell and by 1871 they have at least one daughter called Elizabeth Rebecca so it's possible she is on the 1851 census. Ann, Thanks that is great some of those names look familier(this is my husbands tree but I seem to do all the work! The villages are correct as it was mainly M/Mersh. Timsbury, Braishfield, S. Stoneham. Stockbridge, areas which on records are sometimes classed as Romsey District and sometimes Southampton District, certainly seems to be enough to be going on with. I will try to find out names of churches for you if I need more help. Thanks again Lynn.

Janet Barry Preferably a first and second name and a location or two, Devon is a large county and the names are repetative. It also helps if you have a rough idea of age. Ann
