I am researching my Eva branch in my family tree. So far I have traced them back to 18th Century Helston and surrounding Parishes including St Martin in Meneage in Cornwall, England. I have the names of three Joshua Eva's and a Peter Eva Christened in Helston on 24 Aug. 1788. I don't know how long prior to this the Eva family had been in Cornwall, the furthest connection to my tree that I have been told of is a Jacob Eva c.1664. Also, two John Eva's after this. The online Parish clerk has told me that all the Eva men seem to have been stone masons. I would love to hear from others who know anything about the Eva's of Helston. Add to the Eva History board.

Hi Fiona

In researching the Eva side of my family (my father was Kenneth John Eva (b.1926, London) I spent some considerable time going through the registers of Births / Marriages / Deaths in London and discovered that the vast majority of Evas were either based in London or else in Cornwall / West Country. I've not yet established any links between the two groups, but it's such a rare surname that I'd be surprised if there wasn't a connection somewhere. Let me know if you'd like to have a look at my family tree.
