Do you have a copy of your Grandmothers marriage cert as this should give her age at date of marriage and also her address at the time of the marriage. this just might add a bit more info?

another clue EMILY BARTLETT had a sister called mercy her surname could be deadman and she lived in Eastbourne

I've looked through births Jan 1899 to Jan 1902...cant find Elizabeth Margaret, only the same as everyone else...Elizabeth May V.

The 1901 family still dont look likely as on 1891 they have a son Herbert born 1883, no other children.

Pretty much running out of ideas, sorry :0(((

Are you getting your Grandmothers' birthdate from her death cert, as whoever registered her death could have got it wrong?

I cant find any James 1887 with parents Edward and Emily either :0((

There must be something obvious I am missing.

Can not find a birth for Elizabeth Margaret.

The 1901 census already posted is the only one that I can find as well.

There is this couple on 1901 but there are no children with them :0(((

These are in Shaftesbury Ave, Alverstoke.

Cant find any other Edward with an Emily anywhere.

I have a Death cert and an enquiry into the death of Edward Bartlett beacuse he burnt to death and the report in the paper states he was a rag and bone collectore .The article is dated the 21/01/1914 amd that they were all living in 107 longstone rd Eastbourne

im not that sure that they are from eastbourne just that my grandmother always said she was from Eastbourne and went to a catholic school and grew up in Eastbourne if that makes sense
