Clare it's been a pleasure helping you to find your family... it's allowed me a break from yanking my hair out with mine,..

I also have 2 people with the same name from the same small village born 8 months apart... i'm awaiting the second birth cert before i can make assumptions on what i have....

i have 7 different parts of our tree going at the same time !!

sorry I confused you - I forgot it was Durham

Found a website:
http://www.durhamrecordsonline.com/

This is what is says:

transcribed extracts from many parish registers (christenings, confirmations, marriages, burials)
1841 census transcriptions of the entire county, fully indexed
1851 through 1891 census transcriptions for a large part of County Durham (see the list of communities covered), plus 1901 for Easington district, all fully indexed
complete index searchable by given name, surname, birth year, parents, household head, occupation
instantly viewable order results (with online payment)
optional matching service connects you with other researchers looking at the same records

Might be worth a look

And...I have never seen the Jane bit...but then again...i guess it's not always there.......

Clare

Clare Report 29 Aug 2007 20:23

Hi Wayne, wouldn't that make her 50 in 1841?

So, is that too far out seeing as it says 40, even if it had been rounded?

:S

Julie

Julie Report 29 Aug 2007 20:23

Clare

This could be her death ( couldn't find her on the 1861) it would give you her age, but once again it might not be correct

Deaths Sep 1859 (>99%)

Another thought. Could someone lookup the marriage for you at the LMA?

I had a marriage on familysearch, just usual date, place and spouses. As I had the exact date and place, I kind soul looked up the entry at the LMA for me and found two witness, and one was the bride's father!

Also have you got Sarah on any other censuses to try and narrow down her age?

I forget

Err right, when I look up her birth, I get 1787/1788/1790/1792 but then it jumps to 1800 etc.

Julie

Julie Report 29 Aug 2007 20:20

Clare

me too lol

Where have you got 1792 from ?

Clare

Clare Report 29 Aug 2007 20:19

OK....so would 1792 still be possible?

Am starting to get confused :S

Julie

Julie Report 29 Aug 2007 20:17

Clare

The ages on the 1841 are rounded up or down, that why i then alway check to see if they are on the 1851.

Something my brother always told me was not to forget that they didn't really know how old they were plus it was the head of house that gave the info.
