If Ernest J Smith is the father of Francis this is a possibility for death.

Sept Qtr 1953
Ernest J Smith aged 66
Tiverton
Vol 7a, page 624

Let me know how you get on when you've got the certificates. Hopefully these are the right ones.

My uncle did mention that Ernest was supposed to be buried at Huntsham as well

Steph

Steph Report 29 Sep 2007 19:14

Would Ernest have died in the same area as Francis and Caroline?

Once you get some certificates, Francis birth and Carolines marriage and you've got some ages etc to go on it should be easier.

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page

SMITH Ernest James Tiverton 5b 425

Any good?

Do you know where he was born? There are rather a lot of Ernest J Smith.

Did you go and look at Carolines grave?
Maybe that would have her husbands name on the headstone.

Hi Jennie,

Sorry I haven't got access to the 1901 census.
Put up another thread asking someone to look at the census for you.

Any BMD's I can willingly find.
