Hi Janice.
I too thought this was the family but Im afraid to say that it isnt. Henry was born in 1872.St James Westminster Middlesex..Barry the earlier member may be correct and are the Navy records 100% correct.I would have thought they would have been. This is why I am looking for a first marriage. But perhaps he was never married before he married Elizabeth. My gut feeling tells me he was though.lol Dionne

Thankyou Christine.
I have looked at this one and it could be a possibility. I am trying to find the date of death for Flora. But so far no luck.
Does anyone know how long it takes for certificates to arrive? I ordered and paid for them just under two weeks ago and so far nothing has turned up. Thanks Dionne

Barry
Thankyou for your help. I do believe that his ship records are correct. I did also find that some of his family records are spelt Wilkins rather then Wilkens. I really dont know if he had children from his first marriage and this is what I am trying to find out. I have a posible link with another family tree.We both have the name of Henry Edward Wilkens, right date of birth etc and place of birth and even HMS Cressy. But this is the only link we have between trees. We have a hunch that he might have had children from his first marriage and this is what we are trying to find out. I am still waiting for his marriage certificate to Elizabeth.
Christine Thankyou. Yes I should have said Rossi.Sutherland was her maiden name. When she married Edward she had four children from her first husband. Perhaps he didnt have children from his first marriage but untill I find a record of this marriage it is purely guesswork.
Thanks Dionne

If this is the 1903 one you mean he appears to have married Elizabeth Rossi.

Hi All
A good detective needed please. Henry Edward Wilkens was born in Westminster 1871/2. Parents of Thomas and Elizabeth. Edward married Elizabeth Sutherland in 1903. Edward lost his life on HMS Cressy in 1914. I have a ship list dated 1900.It states that at the time on board he was married. So this must have been his first marriage. I have searched long and hard to try and find this marriage but so far no luck. The only marriage I can find is of him to Elizabeth. Woulrd really love some help on this.Thankyou. Dionne
