I have searched all addresses in the village of Baddesley Ensor on Findmypast 1861.

I couldn't see any Hortons living there at this time.

MargaretM Report 19 Oct 2007 16:30

Debbie, you said in your pm that the family that I found in 1871 is not yours. Is that simply because he gave a different place of birth? His age matches, he's a coal miner, his wife Mary's age matches, even the son Benjamin matches, They're living in Baddesley Ensor and Mary and Benjamin were born there. I'm sure it's the same family.

Debbie,

You said in your pm to me that Mary did marry John Sandal so I think you are going to have to get the cert.

Margret
The Hortons are nothing to do with my family , if you look at the 1891 census John Sandall is my gt grandfather , it's only Mary Horton in the 1881 that belongs to me as she later married John .
But trying to trace her (mary) maiden name thru the marriage to Joseph Horton as that will or should lead to her parents who are my gt gt grandparents , its complicated I know

Debbie

Debbie Report 19 Oct 2007 17:03

that could be him Margret , is polesworth far from Baddesley Ensor , thats where itsays he was born in the '82 census !

GlitterBaby Report 19 Oct 2007 17:03

Still think you are going to have get the marriage cert to John Sandall or the birth certs for one of the children to solve this one.

The children that Mary had while married to John are still related.
