The Collegiate & Parish Church of Manchester was not elevated to Cathedral status until after the formation of the Manchester Diocese in 1847. ( For convenience the IGI lists the church as being Manchester Cathedral from 1573).Marriages here pre-July 1837 do not record the age of the bride and groom, nor their parents. A parent or parents could be witnesses but there is no easy way of knowing if were the case. |
