I can't find either of these brothers after 1851

Well that fits Benjamin. I can't see Nathaniel on the Ellis Island Site passenger lists, perhaps he shows on Ancestry?? Looking on the SS death lists now. I think I'll start a thread to ask for US census info to try to confirm this Nat is mine. |

Whilst the 1861 does say "workhouse" from the original image, I don't think this is correct. Benjamin is a tobacconist & Simon a natutical instrument maker |

I have got Simeom/Simon in 1901 still birthplace Liverpool so I am not convinced he is 'mine', unless he was very confused...or up to something!! |

I saw that Liverpool one, but dismissed it cos of Liverpool, but if as you say it is crossed out could be a possibility. Have to find that family 91 & 01 |

Liverpool has been crossed out, nothing replaced it but others are Islington. |

Thanks for your help Carrie. I don't have an address fro Benjamin and Cahrlotte in 1871 just St Olave's so perhaps they were still in the workhouse |

I have found a Nathl Barnett b.1835 Hackney Middlesex on the 1861 Census, he is a Private on board the Colossus which was berthed in Portland Rd Dorset. No luck with Simon |
