Workhouse inmates

Is there a way to find out if someone was an inmate in a workhouse in approx the 1920/30s? I have been on a website for one workhouse it could be, but there are no inmate records listed. |

A records office local to the workhouse may hold records. Google the local records office and see if they list their archive material or email them. |
