I put in just the 552 with Lap* and he appeared OK - some other Sutcliffes further down the page as well.

Thanks for your efforts everyone - I have some fantastic new leads to investigate:-)

I'm looking for Dorothy Lapish of Gauxholme, Todmorden on the 1841 Census - She's not at home with the rest of the family so figured she must be out with the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion!!!

Dorothy was born in approx 1797 in Oldham and married John Lapish in 1819. John is at home on the 1841 census with 2 boys and what looks like Dorothy's father (William Sutcliffe).

Try as I might, I just can't track her down at all:-( I have got her with the rest of the family on the 1851 census which is H.O107/2289 Folio570 p 43.

For reference her husband John is on H.O107/552 Folio 14 p20 (I think:-)

It would be fantastic if one of you super sleuths could find her.

Many thanks in advance
