Can anyone find the marriage of Alfred Chester for me?
Alfred born 1863 in Loughborough, Leics. (parents Alfred snr (1835 & Maria)
He must have married after 1891 as he is still at home on 1891 census. I believe he married someone called Emma, but I am not sure about this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did he go to Brighton?

Why is she called Emma Chester on the 1901census then? I have a copy of the original document.

I can't do any more than you could to find children.........search on freebmd.

And the only way to know if they were Alfred and Emma's would be to purchase the certs..........

Or, wait until 2012, when the 1911 census becomes available.

I suppose this is possible. MY gt grandparents eloped too and my grandfather was the result of that!

She could call herself anything she wanted.....as long as there was no criminal intent

If you buy the marriage cert, it will tell you the name and occupation of the groom's father........for cross-checking with census info
