I'm back to this one again! I have now received the marriage cert and death cert for Edith May. Her marriage cert gives her father as John Smith and her mother as Ada. |

I've never known an English marriage cert to give the bride's mother's name. |

When you get the chance to check the marriage cert........make a note of the father's occupation then ask again for a 1901 lookup. |

What details does the marriage cert give for Edith and her father? |

Edith was 43 on her marriage cert. (7 Dec 1940) and a spinster. Her father John Smith was deceased, but his occupation is listed as general labourer. |
