Hi Kathryn: Im so sorry to have missed your message. I am always grateful for any help I can get. I didn't find John in the 61 census but I found most of the family living in Pancras London, England in 1871. Again I am truly sorry I guess I was interupted in my study by a call from my daughter and then was off to bed. regards Joy |

Hi Joy, Do you have any idea when he would've come to Aus.? Do you think he came alone? Any idea as to his occupation? (unfortunately it's such a common name) -Valerie |

Hi Joy, The 'Victoria State Library' has an 'Ask a Librarian' service (query form on-line) -they will check their records - including electoral rolls and death records. (don't think they have shipping records.) ... ...Australian RAOK (on-line) may help check the Fiche 517 Page 008 at Vic PRO (which has to be done in person). -Valerie |

Hi Kathryn: I don't know when or where John May went in Aussie. I have him in the 1881 census. I don't know if he married or not. He was on his way back to England when he must have been in his 80's and he died on his way back. This must have been in the 1940's. regards Joy |
