Can anyone find millitary records for a William Alexander Anderson. he served in the navy and i think he went to egypt. he was born in 1922, salford, Lancashire

He probably joined 1940 age 18 which means you will have to prove next of kin and write to MOD at Gosport for his details. This will cost you £30 and you will have to complete forms, proving next of kin and will probably have a wait of about 6 months to a year. It helps if you know the ships on which he served. You can then do some google searching of those ships + Egypt
