Found what would seem to be Margaret's first marriage, if that helps at all:

http://www.freebmd.org.uk

searched for Williams marriage to Farr, 1908 to 1918:

Marriages Mar 1915
Farr Alfred Williams Bedwellty 11a 246
Williams Maggie Farr Bedwellty 11a 246

One might think he died in the war. There are several A Farrs at

http://www.cwgc.org/debt_of_honour.asp?menuid=14

without ages or next of kin; no way of knowing.

The 1918 marriage was relatively early in the year, so if Walter's age on his marriage certificate works out to a birthdate of 1881, there's a good chance he was born in 1880 or early 1881.

The 1881 census is free-access at Ancestry, if you aren't subscribed there.

I'd suggest doing a search of that census year for Walter Jones born 1881 +/- 1 year (to catch 1880 and 1881) with father William -- no other details. Then look at the results for each country, starting with Wales.

The records there show occupations in the individual records, w/o having to open the images.

I checked this father of a Walter:

Name: William Jones
Age: 37
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1844
Relation: Head
Spouse's Name: Elizabeth
Gender: Male
Where born: Mold, Flintshire, Wales

Civil Parish: Mold
County/Island: Flintshire
Country: Wales

Street address: 106 Cilcen Rd
Condition as to marriage: Married
Education: View Image
Employment status: View Image
Occupation: Watchmaker

Registration district: Holywell
Sub-registration district: Mold

-- occupation watchmaker. No good. Next one I tried was a confectioner and butcher. (Ew.) Then a boiler maker. And of course a coalminer. You could try your luck! Try also searching for William Jones, occupation fireman.

Here's a youngish one:

Name: William Jones
Age: 17
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1864
Relation: Son
Father's Name: Jonathan
Mother's Name: Jane
Gender: Male
Where born: Penderyn, Breconshire, Wales

Civil Parish: Penderyn
County/Island: Breconshire
Country: Wales

Street address: Merthyr Rd
Education: View Image
Employment status: View Image
Occupation: Fireman In Colliery

Registration district: Merthyr Tydfil
Sub-registration district: Aberdare

There are actually well over a dozen firemen Williams-s in Wales in 1881, including a couple of other colliery firemen. And about as many more in England ...
