According to the 1871 census record, my gr gr grandfather John Hayes age 24 was living with his wife Sarah Jane 25, son William 3 and daughter Elizabeth 1 in Haywood Cottage, Nynehead.

I would like to know if the cottage still exists today. I can see Haywood Farm on maps of Nynehead. Does anyone have knowledge of the area?

He was an agricultural labourer so maybe he rented a cottage belonging to the farm.

Could anyone help please?

Thanks

~Miss Ellie~

Julie, I have just tried Google earth and got carried away looking at different addresses. It's fantastic. I zoomed in on Haywood Farm and it shows what looks like a row of terraced cottages. Thanks for that.

Thanks Kathleen, it looks like the row of cottages are now 2.

I appreciate your help
